BURLESQUE + LESSONS = BURLESSQNS

Saffron Soleil has been performing the art of the tease in burlesque shows, anime conventions and music festivals across the country since 2012 - and has distilled her years of experience into workshops for beginner performers and veterans alike! In the Summer of 2024, she transmuted her expertise with theater arts, cosplay, and far too many special interests into "Saffron Soleil's BURLESSQNS", a dance and burlesque academy in Richmond, VA. Her courses include fan favorite "Costuming 101" and "Stillness On Stage" workshops. With her academy, Saffron collaborates along with other seasoned performers in the DMV area, hosting guest instructor workshops and community led open mic shows. Whether you are curious about costume making or analytical about act development, Saffron's courses are geared towards sharing practical advice for performers at all stages of the creative journey. Every workshop is designed to connect students to resources and the larger burlesque scene, as well as elevate foundational knowledge in live entertainment performances.

The Misson:

I want to be clear, I'm NOT teaching you how to dance like me! I'm teaching you ways to explore your creativity in the burlesque scene, finding your own unique persona and performance, giving real world advice on gig success, and techniques to improve your stage self. No audience wants you to do bad up there, and i want to give you the advice i wish i had when i started 13 years ago.

I'm here to sharpen iron with iron - i want to cultivate bravery and self sufficiency while connecting you to the community. And i believe in YOU!
