Hi friend,
In March of this year, I was forced to leave my day job of 4 years after being abruptly pushed out by management. My wages and health insurance are gone. My partner and I were floating on his pay until I got a new job, but he was also suddenly fired a few weeks after me from the same company under suspicious circumstances.
I have since found solid employment but my partner is still looking for work and we are still waiting to see if he qualifies for unemployment benefits.
The scary part: we may both be COVID positive at this time. I am afraid for our survival while I wait for my first paycheck after a month without any income and my partner is sick. If I am forced to quarantine from my new job, I won’t be able to make the work hours I need and we will not be able to pay our bills in the next month.
In the past, we’ve done our best to support our community and friends. And now we turn to you: I created this shop and the special items here to help me support my family. I wanted to offer something cool and handmade as a way to say thank you for your help. All proceeds from this shop go towards our living expenses and possible legal fees in the near future.
“Do No Harm, Take No Shit” has become my personal affirmation while we try to make sense of what happened to us. The Philippine Eagle has become my personal symbol of strength and tenacity while I adjust to these big life sucker punches. I hope it brings you the same comfort it brings me.
