Saffron has been performing in live entertainment and burlesque show across the country since 2012 - and has now distilled her years of experience into workshops for beginner performers and veterans alike! All classes are held at The Crescent Collective at 1800 Decatur St on Sunday from 11AM-2PM & Thursdays from 7PM-8:30PM.*** Classes are +18 Only.

Each workshop is designed to connect students to resources and the larger burlesque scene, as well as elevate foundational knowledge in live entertainment performances. Signing up with the bundle package allows students to attend one of each signature Saffron Soleil workshop. Please read over the class schedule carefully.

Act from Scratch - Burlesque Act Development
This is a workshop that gives attendees a starting guide to developing a unique and a polished act as a burlesque performer. This class will host discussions on creating your ideas, feedback and practical advice on how build the performance of your dreams. Whether new or a veteran, this is a low pressure environment to give voice to your ideas and creativity. Feel free to come with ideas already brewing or a blank page! This workshop is made for getting started!

The Business of Burlesque: Beginner Etiquette & Advice
A lecture class that includes topics like booking, professionalism, producer etiquette, backstage behavior, networking, safety, and more! Discover how to get started in the burlesque scene and learn practical advice about the grit and passion it takes to be a successful performer in the DMV area. Performers of any level or medium - newbies and veterans welcome! Feel free to bring something to take notes from lecture and Q&A.

Stillness on Stage with Saffron Soleil
A short lecture and light movement exercise workshop to train the brain to stay present in a live performance. The Art of the Tease relies on good pacing and body awareness - this workshop is geared towards learning how to effectively utilize quiet moments on stage and grounding yourself while you perform. Whether a comedy performance, or a slow burn, timing is everything! Feel free to bring something to take notes with and its recommended to wear comfortable clothing that is easy to move in.

Let Me Upgrade You: A Guide to Embellishing a More Is More Costume with Saffron Soleil
This lecture style workshop is a presentation and hands on guide to Saffron’s unique and practical decoration tips. Feel free to bring something to take notes for topics including materials to use, costume design, finishing techniques, construction advice and more! Saffron will walk through ways to improve and upgrade a full look from head to toe. With these tips you can take your costume from pretty to picturesque without all the frustration of figuring out where to start!

Open Stitch & Bitch - Open discussion/craft time
Bring a craft project you're working on and get to gluing, styling, crafting, whatever! Come with your own tools and supplies. Hang with fellow performers and artists of all mediums and work on something in a chill atmosphere. Feel free to bring cozy items, snacks, cushions for maximum craft time!

Saffron's Costuming Madness - Materials, Construction & Cost
A lecture class with a slideshow presentation describing all the tips, tricks, and hacks Saffron uses to make all the costumes and props in her repertoire. The session will touch on the basics of Saffron's process when conceptualizing and creating one-of-a-kind original costumes. We will cover practical advice from years of experience and study in the arts. Feel free to bring something to take notes with, as this workshop also contains resources and links to Saffron's preferred craft and costume supply sources!

Pastie Making Tips and Tricks
A full in-depth follow along lesson covering all of Saffron's pastie making techniques and tips. Participation and questions are encouraged. Pastie materials will be supplied by Saffron, and attendees will leave with a pair of pastie bases to embellish how they like!
