Beyond Bathbombs: Burlesque Self Care with Sally Stardust
Have you ever left a show feeling like you've physically just walked through Mordor and back? Performers tend to push through things, so we all have! Self care means a lot more than just sitting in the tub with a fancy bathbomb every now and then. My class is all about taking care of your physical and emotional self in the context of life as a burlesque performer. We will cover tips and tricks I've developed as a chronically ill performer to better prepare for shows, be more mindful during shows, and maintain a healthy relationship to performing even when you're off stage. This is a lecture class ending with a worksheet activity to inspire self reflection and class discussion.

Fan Dancing 101 with Poppy La Fae
An introductory experience to feather fan dancing. Learn basic construction and what to look for before you purchase your own. Learn about conditioning exercises helpful for building your fan strength and some options for recovery and maintenance (fan dancing is work!) We’ll cover some conceal and reveal poses and then combine them for a dance combo. Poppy has several sets of fans to share with the class, but bring them if you got them so people can see some of the different options on the market! Poppy is a learning pro in their day job and has been obsessed with their own feather fans for the past 7ish years. They love to support learners who want to try out the fancy prop to see if its for them before they make the big investment!
